The European Day of Persons with Disabilities 2021

2 December 2021

The European Commission together with the European Disability Forum organise a conference for the European Day of Persons with Disabilities. Held on 2-3 December, the 2021 European Day of Persons with Disabilities focuses on the topics of access to healthcare and digital transformation.

This day also brings attention to the COVID-19 pandemic which had an impact on healthcare and digital transformation. The International Federation of Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus (IF) explores the impact on the Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus (SBH)  community and presents recommendations for actions in the IF Statement on Covid-19. You can learn more on this here.

The voices of youth with disabilities, including youth with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus are an incredibly important aspect of celebrations and discussions such as these. The IF International Youth Group has prepared social media messages to spread awareness of their perspectives of the topics raised at this year’s conference.

Join IF and the IF International Youth Group in spreading the message and raise awareness on the rights and needs of the SBH community.

You can learn more about EU action in the field of disability rights policies in the IF Information Package on the European Strategy for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities here (English version). This information package is also available in Italian here.
