IF Webinar Getting Older, Living Better: Best Practices for Ageing with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus

Description

Ageing is a natural part of life, but for individuals living with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus (SBH), it can come with unique challenges and considerations. To address these challenges and promote a better quality of life for those ageing with SBH, the International Federation for Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus (IF) is hosting an enlightening webinar on Sunday, October 1, 2023, in commemoration of the International Day of Older Persons.

Background

In recent years, members of the IF Working Group on Ageing with SBH have emphasised the importance of raising awareness about ageing with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus (SBH). Ageing is a natural part of life, but for individuals living with SBH, it can come with unique challenges and considerations. To address these challenges and promote a better quality of life for those ageing with SBH, the working group has recently published an insightful and comprehensive report “Ageing With Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus: An Overview of Best Practices Around the World”. This report delves into the practices, strategies, and approaches adopted on a country level to support individuals with SBH as they navigate the challenges associated with the ageing process. The report highlights successful initiatives, innovative solutions, lessons learned from different parts of the world, and key recommendations.

Webinar description

The upcoming webinar will be organised by the IF Working on Ageing with SBH on October 1, as part of the International Day of Older Persons, focused on discussing best practices for the ageing Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus community. The webinar aims to provide a platform for the ageing SBH community to share insights, discuss the findings of the report, and engage in meaningful conversations about the unique needs and opportunities for the ageing SBH community.
