IF, in cooperation with the Norwegian and the Swedish associations, has committed itself to a continuous evaluation of results and follow-up of the programme.

The development goal of the project, called  "A better life situation for people with Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus and their families through social inclusion in the local environment"' is the term of reference for evaluating activities and progress.

IF has, since the beginning of the project, ordered the following qualitative internal and external evaluations  to improve the total programme:

• External evaluation:  Methodological and Desk Review Evaluation of the RHF (Norwegian Association for Spina bifida and Hydrocephalus) and IF (International Federation for Spina bifida and Hydrocephalus) supported Programme for Early Intervention, Treatment and Rehabilitation of Children with Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus in the East, Central and Southern Africa (2009)

•  "Early intervention, treatment, rehabilitation, and follow-up of persons with Hydrocephalus and Spina Bifida in Uganda and Kenya”. An evaluation report for the Norwegian Association for Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus and the International Federation for Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus (2006)

•  Evaluation of the first 5 years of the IF programme for early detection, treatment and rehabilitation of Children with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus in East Africa and other Developing (2002)

•  Evaluation visit Guro Fjellanger to IF and RHF programs in Tanzania and Uganda (2001)
